Dave Galvin is CEO of Updraft, a firm applying industry-leading automation and artificial intelligence techniques to legacy software modernization.
Previously, he founded Three Fish Capital with his brother in 2014. Together, they have invested in more than 15 technology companies. Dave spent six years at IBM in a variety of roles, including M&A and business development for IBM’s Watson AI, Data, and Cloud businesses, investing corporate venture capital for the $100 million IBM Watson venture fund, Watson partnerships and internal consulting with IBM Global Business Services.
Dave holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a dual degree in physics and economics with a focus in corporate finance from the University of Virginia. He is an avid outdoorsman and athlete, and is actively involved in conservation efforts through his work with the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust. In a previous life, Dave was a Tour de France-caliber professional cyclist riding for the BMC Racing Team in the U.S. and Europe. When not racing, Dave spent time as a mountain guide in the Western U.S. and Europe.
